In order to compete with the new iPhone/AppStore ecosystem launched by Apple, the RIM company, well known for being behind the Blackberry, launched in May a developer-dedicated fond aiming to promote software development for its mobile handhelds.
After facing problem in the setup phase, the 150 million USD fond is now launched. It indicates that RIM is not considering Apple and its iPhone as a gadget, and is ready to fight to maintain its leading position.
