Do it yourself: Hard Drive replacement on your MacBook Pro

André Sterpin just wrote a step by step note explaining how to change the 17" MacBook Pro Hard Drive (French language). He installed a 500 GB Samsung Hard Drive which, even if not the fastest, still has the highest capacity available.

After Dell, it is HP who patch their portables using Nvidia chips

A few days after Dell, it is now the turn of HP to propose an update of the BIOS for its portables equipped with defective NVidia Geforce video chips of the type 8xxxM.
The manufacturer gives a bit extra by announcing an extension of guarantee to 24 months on the graphic part of the affected machines.
We still do not know if Apple will need to also propose an update.
It should be noted that ATI has taken advantage of this occasion to criticize its competitor's choice of material and errors that they made.

An update for iTunes

iTunes 7.7.1 is available via the usual software updates.
iTunes 7.7.1 includes the corrections that improve the stability and the performance.
As usual, one does not know what has been changed in reality.
