ZDNet Clock is an overclocking utility for Macintosh computers. Version 1.0 supports Mac Pro and Xserve computers. Typical increase of speed ranges from 15 to 20 percent. Simply select the desired CPU frequency. Most computers with a 2.8 GHz CPU can be overclocked to 3.2 GHz and up.We immediately started looking at it, and as we are working on a more details review and analysis, we can already say that as a first release, it is a true piece of art. ZDnet Clock deserves a real award, maybe not from Apple, but for sure from Mac users, as this is the application that many of us have been dreaming of it, in order to really push our Mac till the limit, and get the most out of it.
Features:
- Overclocking of CPU, main memory and front side bus, no CPU-Only solution
- Automatic clock chip detection
- Extensive diagnosis via Mac OS X console
- Ability to reboot overclocked computers into another OS, for instance Windows
After Mac Pro and their Xeon CPUs, let's hope that the future version of ZDnet Clock will open the door of overclocking for the iMac or any non-Xeon-based Apple hardware. Damned, we are excited about all possibilities so far restricted to PC users, such as test some specific RAM modules in overclocked Mac Pro...
