O2 will offer several iPhone 3G subscription plans, targeting new, O2 customers and even existing O2 iPhone 1G customers.
Switching to O2 is easy and you can keep your existing number
Switching to iPhone is easy and we have a wide range of tariff options for iPhone available to suit all your needs. If you've already finished or nearing the end of your minimum term contract with another network provider, now is the right time to get the new iPhone 3G.
Existing iPhone customers can upgrade early to the new iPhone 3G for free*
To thank you for being an iPhone fan, we're offering you an early upgrade to the iPhone 3G when it launches on 11th July 2008. You won't have to wait until the end of your existing contract, all you'll need to do is agree to a new 18-month minimum term contract.
*Best of all, the new 8GB iPhone 3G won't cost you a penny on our £45 and £75 Pay Monthly tariffs for iPhone. And it's just £99 on our £35 tariff and new £30 tariff. This special early upgrade offer is only available online at o2.co.uk anytime from 11th July until 11th October 2008.

Of course, a free iPhone implies you subscribe for 18 month, but for sure it will attract more than one consumers, and it could really make the base of iPhone owners literally exploding from the beginning of July.
Will other carrier having an exclusive partnership with Apple, meaning AT&T in USA, T-Mobile in Germany and Orange in France will also offer such deal to new and already customers? T-Mobile already started, but might go even further, however, Orange does not look like willing to finance the iPhone based on a higher subscription plan.
