The frenzy around the keynote of the WWDC

by crispin . Original by Lionel - 07/06/2008 21:52:29 CEST
Once again Apple has succeeded to make a master stroke. Without revealing any contents of Keynote at the WWDC, rumours and the media has already directed everyones eyes towards this event.
Between the 3G iPhone, the AppStore, the possible arrival of a tablet Mac, all was predicted, dreamed, and invented a good number of times, until it becomes ridiculous, as certain analysts estimate a 50% probability of seeing a new product. In short, either it will be there, or it will not be there…
As always, we will do everything to make you enjoy all this as it happens - on line. With this occasion we will inaugurate a new system of Live set up by W00kie. It should allow us to deal with the enormous interest generated by this type of event without problem; and thus to ensure that you can comfortable follow the announcements of Steve Jobs.
We will give you the details and the links to this new solution on Monday.

Details on the judgement concerning the vertical lines

by crispin . Original by Lionel - 07/06/2008 21:38:10 CEST
Dominique who succeeded in taking on Apple in front of the court forwarded to us two documents while waiting to make us a complete summary of the procedure which allowed him to win.
While waiting for me to prepare a small guide on the steps that I followed, I think that the victims of the syndrome of the vertical lines will have little hope of winning without, at least, sending a registered letter with notification of reception specifying what was said and judged by the court of proximity of Palaiseau that "this is a recurring defect present on many iMac computers and Powerbook, in France and outside France, that could not be ascribable with any wear or alleged misuse of the consumers; that the origin of the defect is intrinsic with manufacture of the aforesaid computers".
I think that they can claim a replacement of the machine, since many of those who had their machines repaired found that the fault quickly returning.
The following stage is going to court, but in any event it is not recommended; to resort to it without to have sought a friendly solution, however this registered letter is the starting point impossible to circumvent.
The first pdf are the conclusions reached by the judge:
Conclusions_Dominique.pdf
The second is the judgement given. Dominique just removed personal information:
Jugement_APPLE.pdf
One should know that even though we are delighted with this win, we are sorry that it was necessary to go before the courts when there was so much obvious evidence concerning this latent defect on these series of machines.
We hope that sincerely Apple will become aware of the loss of image that they undergo by refusing to open their eyes to certain problems; we want to again praise the the after sales service of our preferred company.
