Vodafone today announced it has signed an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone in ten of its markets around the globe. Later this year, Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network. This is a real success for Vodafone, and might illustrate the potential of the iPhone, as initially Vodafone refused to start a partnership with Apple for the UK market, and O2 was then the winner. This is a huge market of potential users for Vodafone, and the carrier will have to develop the corresponding infrastructures to offer a complete "iPhone experience" for the users.
