Let me be clear --this post is in no way an apology for hackers, but it is still interesting to see how hacking was born, the purpose of different hackers and races between the cat and mouse. These include Kevin Mitnick, Kevin Poulsen and DVD Jon, but also another famous couple: Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniack and their famous Blue Box.
All these stories are told here:

During the last 48h in the PC world they have been continually testing and praising the new range of NVidia card, the Geforce 9600 GT.
This card will be priced at 150 euros and will in effect be the new reference with its ratio of performance/price.
At most it is only 20% less powerful than the more expensive 8800 GT which risks being overshadowed by this new offering.
AMD will react with a substantial price cut on its equivalent - but less powerful cards.
Of course this card is far in advance of the Radeon X2600 XT which looks like a toy in comparison.
It would be desirable given the problems met with the Mac Pro with the X2600 XT that Apple relaxes it rule and re-adds the 9600 to the catalogue.
PS Note that the Mac Pro ordered with the 8800 GT option are now delivered in a couple of days.
