The Hollywood Reporter has learned from various sources that Toshiba is on the point of giving up in the war HD-DVD vs Blu-ray. They will probably wait until the stocks of HD-DVD readers have been depleted, especially in the US. These units being sold off, even though they have no future with the HD-DVD format, are nonetheless very good DVD readers (as emphasized by Toshiba).
