- OLED TV Launch Postponed till 2012 - Lionel - 09:43:09
According to the French website Les numériques that was invited by Sony for a presentation of some products, the company does not plan to launch large size OLED TV within the next 5 years, so not before 2012. IF you plan to save money to purchase such TV model, then you better start now, as prices will be so high, that one can not consider it as a consumer electronic product. Prices should then decrease over the following years.
In summary, one will not be able to find OLED TV able to compete with plasma or LCD TV before 2015. Other technologies will have also evolved, and could easily compete with OLED, plasma and LCD, such a the Laser-based TV recently released. It seems that Sony is facing problem to bring such promising technology to the mass market.

- iPhone: False Copies Surface in Russia - Lionel - 09:42:32
If several companies are trying to surf on the iPhone mania wave to sell mobile phones looking like the real iPhone, meaning copied or counterfeited models, the Russian website http://englishrussia.com reports that new copies are now circulating. Counterfeiters went one step further and offer the following device:

If it really looks like an iPhone, it only contains a small printed-circuit and a LCD screen to display the Apple logo when turned on or pressing on a button. In Russia, such models are offered on the street for a competitive price, arguing that only the Apple is displayed as it is an SIM unlocked iPhone. For sure such models will end up on some online bedding websites, so be careful and do not forget that a good deal might turn to be a disaster at the end.

- Google Wants to Turn YouTube into a Cash Machine - Lionel - 09:41:18
Google, the leader of online advertising technologies, is facing some issues to make the recently acquired website YouTube a financially balanced investment. Indeed, the online video sharing website is draining server and technology resources, while collecting legal actions launched by video copyright owners.
In order to boost revenues generated by this online video platform, Google has decided to add specific links to legal online stores (such as iTunes Store or Amazon) where visitors will have the opportunity to purchase the music, video, series or movie they are watching on YouTube. Similar, dedicated links are already used by the online free music platform deezer.com.
In addition, such specific links should also help Google to cool down conflicts with Majors, as video contains more or less legally uploaded to YouTube would then be turn promoting ads or trailer for official products available just one-click away.

- iPhone: the secret of instant opening of applications - Matrix - 07:37:08
On the iPhone and iPod Touch, launching applications like Email, Contacts or Plans is almost immediate with the first touch of the finger on their icon. This appears reserved for the Apple applications that seem to use an advanced technological compared to the developers of third party applications.
The secret lies in the " splash screen" used by these applications. This term, obscure at a first glance, contains a simple image that is used by default by the application as a start screen.
The developers at Apple showed an even greater ingenuity for the applications Contacts and Plans because this software carries out a screen capture during their closing, and this copy is used during the following relaunch of the application.
