How to Keep Using Scanner not Supported by Leopard?

A reader from XLR8yourmac.com could not use his Canon scanner anymore after migrating to Leopard. So, he looked for a solution and found it thanks to TWAIN SANE Interface for MacOS X

To use this application, you have to install the following package in the defined order:
- libusb.pkg
- sane-backends.pkg
- twain-sane-interface.pkg
- sane-preference-pane.pkg
