SuperSpeed for USB 3

By Greg. Original by Lionel - 30/11/2007 20:39:45 CET - Category: Network - Source: CDR Info
The USB 3 Promoter Group is still working on the next upgrade of the USB technology, which should be reqdy by the second half of 2008.
Coming after Full-Speed USB (12Mbit/s) and Hi-Speed USB, also called USB 2 (480 Mbit/s), Superspeed USB is to be 10 times faster than its predecessor.
Thanks to its downward compatibility, but above all thanks to its fine-tuned energy management which will allow a gain on laptop's autonomy, Fullspeed USB should quickly become a widespread standard.
If Apple does not upgrade its own firewire norm, it will soon be killed and burried by USB 3. Should we soon expect "one more thing" to be Firewire 5000 ?

iPhone SDK Kit Already Distributed?

By jwa. Original by dulrich1 - 30/11/2007 19:39:25 CET - Category: Apple - Source: MacNN
According to MacNN the SDK kit for developing iPhone and iPod Touch applications has already been distributed to a few companies.
This kit allows developers to write more complexe applications than the web apps that Apple has made up till now. It will however be necessary to see what it will be possible to do with it, as Apple is concerned with security and is therefore likely to limit the kit in order to prevent abuse.
