HP to Offer SSD as an Option Storage Unit

As many notebook manufacturers did already, HP will offer flash memory-based SSD as an optional storage unit in its notebooks. If SSD will save power and consequently increase battery lifetime, it will have a cost: around $US1, 000. Such a price will most likely restrict the use of SSD in HP notebook to a small niche market. We also now understand why Apple does not offer such option on its notebook yet.
