A New LED Backlight Unit Manufacturer to Work with Apple

According to Digitimes, Apple could obtain new LED V-cut light-guide technology panel from Taiwan-based Kenmos Technology . The new LED backlight unit (BLU) panel will be dedicated to for 13.3" and 15.4" notebooks. If Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) will adopt Kenmos' LED BLUs for the panels it will ship to Apple, it remains unclear if it will also include a 17" model or if it could be such a large shipment due to the future use of such technology in MacBook. For the entry level apple-branded notebook it would imply that Cupertino could decrease price significantly to make this power saving and environment-friendly technology also commercially sustainable.
