Last February, the CEO of ARM Holdings plc revealed revealed that the iPhone will be powered by at least 3 ARMS CPU. At the same time we reported that the iPhone will also feature a specific mobile GPU from NVidia.
While the iPhone is planned to be released in one week, we have received additional information regarding its components and we provide a summary hereafter:
- The iPhone will be powered by 3 ARMS CPU, one of them being the powerful PXA320 from Marvel clocked at 800MHz.
- The mobile GPU from NVidia would be the GoForce 6100, currently the best chips GPU for mobile handheld. It will be clocked at 250MHz and will allow advanced 3D functions for the iPhone display.

One can now easily understand why Apple has been facing some serious challenges when trying to extend the battery life time with a handheld featuring 4 CPUs/GPUs

EA develops game for the portable game station; such as the Nintendo DS which is also powered by ARM CPUs, but slower than those found in the iPhone...
So the future of the iPhone as a mobile phone/smartphone/web browsing device/mobile game station might be bright...
