Cupertino announced last Friday, that it will not be able to file its Form 10-K for the 2006 fiscal year as expected, but it should be able to do so, latest on December 29th. The reason behind this delay is of course the current on-going internal investigation concerning stock options irregularities.
As announced by Apple in August, results of this internal audit will most likely require restating of its historical financial statements including previous years.
Linksys has released a VoIP-based phone, branded "iPhone".

Linksys is reported to have filed the name for this product about 10 years ago, but interestingly, the name is written exactly the same way used by Apple for its "iProducts".
In addition, releasing this product is probably not an accident and Cupertino will have to use another name, if the Apple-branded mobile phone is ever announced. So, they might have already chosen another name as iPhone is already reserved for such device/use. Actually, Apple must have been aware of this since the beginning, and only rumours websites have spread the "iPhone" name on the net.
So, what about "iCall"?

During a party taking place at Microsoft's Redmond headquarters, Bill Gates made several interesting remarks, which were reported by some of the invited bloggers and web developers:
"DRM is not where it should be,"
"But we don't have the right thing here in terms of simplicity or interoperability,"
It is very surprising to hear this information from Bill Gates while Microsoft is the leader for DRM systems, and its well-known playsforure for digital music protection. So, does Bill Gates really believe what he was saying, or is it an intelligence/marketing action aiming to fool with news networks and consumers to hide the current Microsoft's strategy to get control and promote DRM ... well MS DRM.
