Think Secret, after a rather quiet period, has decided to challenge Apple once more by releasing screenshots of Leopard.
They even did it with humor as shown below to illustrate the Leopard Reference Library - Thesaurus feature:

As some of you might remember, in August we had to remove photos/screen captures from our article about Leopard after Apple Legal injunction: article.

iPod Shuffle Error 1418: Finally a Fix

By linathael. Original by MacEnsteph - 26/10/2006 13:24:35 CEST - Category: Apple
Since iTunes version 7, many iPod Shuffle 1G owners have been facing synchronization issues making the smallest iPod simply not usable anymore.
As mentioned by Denis and others, flashing green or orange lights, as well as a typical "Error 1418" message were the main symptoms of this problem. Several users have launched dedicated topics on Apple forums and even some websites, such 1418hell.com, were created simply to make this problem publicly known and acknowledged by Apple.
Some Cupertino engineers (especially RoyB) have decided to analyze this problem; and thanks to logs provided by many Shuffle owners they were able to release an updated Shuffle firmware that should fix the issue.

Hitachi: New Hard Drive Models

By linathael. Original by Lionel - 26/10/2006 13:16:01 CEST - Category: Hard Drive - Source: http://www.hitachigst.com
Hitachi has announced new 3.5" HDs (Deskstar T7K500, Deskstar 7K160 and CinemaStar) based on 160GB+ per platter technology.
It delivers up to 500 GB storage capacity and features 7,200rpm rotation speeds and 3.0Gb/s SATAII interfaces to deliver maximum performance
In addition, it is used the "Thermal Fly Height Control" (TFC) to improve data integrity; and an optional low-power mode to minimize power requirements, enabling cooler system operation.
As for CPU, it really seems that power consumption/performance is really becoming a marketing argument.

The iSight is EOL

By linathael. Original by Lionel - 26/10/2006 13:08:41 CEST - Category: Apple
About a month ago, the iSight was removed from all European AppleStores due to the RoHS directive.
Apple has now indicated that this product was EOL worldwide.
One can expect a new model to come in a near future (January 2007?); it will probably be a USB2 webcam (PC compatible?), it might even be shipping as a bundle with a IR-dongle and an apple Remote control to bring FrontRow functionalities to officially not supported Mac models.
