Water in the Apple Store?

By jwa. Original by Lionel - 21/07/2006 19:05:35 CEST - Category: Apple
Chunkyloop sent us these photos taken a short time ago at the 5th Ave. Apple Store in New York.

During the night there was a large storm, and water succeeded in infiltrating the store which is located underground.
Between the elevator which gets stuck and the water leaks, the life of the employees of this 24/7 store could not be more exciting.

All's well that ends well

On the 20th of June, we told you about the problems Sébastien encountered with his MacBook Pro.
His machine overheated so much as to make the AirPort antenna cover deform.

3 weeks ago, I contacted you about the defomed part for the MBP plus the other problems. I sent it in for repair and have just received it back today (a 3 week repair). The good news is that I now have a new motherboard (+ an installation CD for OS X v10.4.6 + a letter from Apple :-) )
In addition to being a little cooler, there is no more of the infernal noise.
And the most important thing, the deformed piece is now brand-new :-) All's well that ends well. But I would have liked it if Apple had taken less time for the repair! 3 weeks, imagine someone that is self-employed and has to pay to lease another computer. I think that when it exceeds a certain amount of time, Apple should provide a temporary machine for use during the repair. For a 2000 € machine :-) Finally it's back. Now I make HD backups, with the heat.... :-)
He touched on the info from July 8th, where we informed you that Apple is exchanging MacBook Pro motherboards when they are sent in for repair. This motherboard's main advantage is that it does not make all the aggravating noises.
