According to a reader from Macintouch, Apple is exchanging the motherboard (MLB) of MB Pro that have been sent to AppleCare. This new MLB sports the same feature while lacking the famous whining noise; But Mac OS X.4.6 is required.
To prove this information, hereafter is a letter sent by AppleCare together with the repaired hardware:
Apple has most likely revised the tension/clock of the MLB that is suspected to be responsible for the annoying whining & Co noises.
Modifying the frequency of the MLB could also be the proof of an updated MLB that will be used in the Merom/Core 2 Duo-based MB Pro.
