Toshiba: First 200GB 2.5" HD

By linathael. Original by Lionel - 05/06/2006 11:46:36 CEST - Category: Hard Drive - Source: PC Inpact
Toshiba has announced the future availability of the first 200GB dedicated to notebooks
.
This 9.5m thickness SATA HD will fit in MB and MBPro. Problems with this HD are its rotation speed, 4200 rpm, and the corresponding slow access time.
So, if you urgently need 200GB in your notebook, this will be a solution, otherwise our advice will be to wait for the future perpendicular-based 2.5" HD to be available (allowing more choice of manufacturers, lower price and potentially higher capacity).

Microsoft renews its war against the iPod

By jwa. Original by Lionel - 05/06/2006 06:45:51 CEST - Category: iPod
Microsoft's bloated stomach suffers greatly by not having succeeded in swallowing up Apple and its iPod!
The insatiable giant sets out once more to attack Apple and its quite tasty audio player. This time, having not succeeded alone, it has created an alliance with Toshiba, Victor, and NTT Docomo.
We are very curious to see the monstrosity that these giants will give birth to.
