According to The Inquirer, IBM has major problems producing its Cell processor that is planned to equip the future PS3.
The level of CPU defects during the pre-production stage is abnormally high.
The problems may simply be linked to the complexity of this processor, being simply too difficult to be manufactured fast enough in large quantities.
For us Mac users, IBMs problem to deliver CPUs on schedule is a well-known story, and was well illustrated with the PPC970/G5 roadmap...
