Microsoft loses another lawsuit

Both Microsoft and Autodesk were found to have violated patents owned by z4 Technologies.
What's amusing is that the patents are about checking serial numbers via the Internet to validate their authenticity.
Microsoft, who will have to pay $115 million in damages, continue to deny violating the patents, and maintain that their system was in place prior to the filing of the patent.
Hopefully, as a result, Microsoft will become adverse to software patents :)
