Without a big surprise, and confirming what
we have already published about this project the DADVSI bill has been voted, and will now go the high chamber in May.
some articles in this law, have such broad claims and impacts that the French Internet market face might be dramatically changed. Congratulation to our lawmakers for having successfully displeased all actors of this important subject, from artists to consumers.
Forbes has published an analysis only related to the "interpolarity article" that will force online music providers to make their DRM compatibles. As we were already mentioning it, Forbes expect that if such law is applied in France, Apple might simply decide to close the French iTMS. It will of course not only impact Apple iTMS, but also other players. iTMS is not the first French online music providers, Virgin music is still leading the race in France (DRM-enable WMA music format). In addition, Apple France is probably tired of negotiating with our government regarding taxes applied on devices and storage media (CD, DVD, HD- and Flash memory-based Music players) that have originally delayed iPods success.

Even the biggest Apple's fan would reconsider their passion if they had to carry out this task, a real big challenge.
