Thx to Hervé for letting us know that the company
SIIG now sells Firewire 400 and 400/800 cards, compatible with PCI Express G5 Powermacs.
They tried the 400 models which works flawlessly and stands deep sleep.
We eagerly await the real availability of SATA bootable PCI-Express cards, that will support deep sleep, for those machines.
According to
Digitimes, NVidia should launch on March 9th their newest generation of video cards, the Geforce 7900.
Cast at 90 nm (against 110 for 7800 series), those cards should restore their supremacy over Radeon X1900 series.
This new chip will have as much as 32 Pixel Pipelines and a frequency between 700 and 750 MHz.
Those neverending line changes among the two manufacturers eventually result in disturbing customers, especially since the cards are sometimes replaced before they can only be bought in real shops...
Since our story with their lawyers this summer, Apple became really discrete towards sites and informations related to the possibility of installing OS X x86 on common commercial PCs.
It seems this truce came to an end, as the forums from the site
OSX86project are now closed.
According to the message left by the admin, they're being accused of violating the DMCA and should reopen as soon as the contested material is removed.
Given the fact members of this project were about to succeed in their attempts to use the Mac OS X 10.4.4 of MacIntels, Apple's reaction was to be expected.
An Italian reader sent us some information about the future Apple Store due to open soon in his land.
We couldn't get any confirmation of this information so consider they're not to be considered 100% sure.
For starters, the Store should open September 2006. It would be located in a new commercial mall under construction, called "Roma Est".
And it would be much like the big American Apple Stores with their Genius Bar, selling points..

As for Paris, rumours are still doing well, yet not reliable enough information worth being given here is available.
