A new victory for Mac users vs. Apple !
Apple has launched a "PowerBook G4 (15-inch 1.67/1.5GHz) Memory Slot Repair Extension Program".
It finally comes to answer the problem faced by many PB owners.
The currently identified models are Powerbook G4 1.5 and 1.67 GHz with a serial number in this range:
W8503xxxxxx through W8518xxxxxx, manufactured between January and April 2005. The warranty is extended for 2 years.
It is a good start, and we should give Apple a point for answering properly Mac users problems, when there is an obvious technical problem with a series. But we would also like to remember Apple that previous models have also been affected by this memory slot problem; already from the PB1.25GHz if we remember correctly.
