According to Engadget, Dell will be adding a 30" monitor to their catalog on December 21st. It's resolution is identical to the Apple at 2560x1600. It will have a USB hub and a 9 in 1 card reader.
Dell has always had an aggressive price position, so there is a good chance that it will be significantly cheaper than the Apple 30" display.
In order to not be outdone, our favorite manufacturer needs to retake the leadership of having the largest monitor in its catalog.
The speculation is running wild. 32"? 36"? 42"? Dual DVI makes it possible to have a theoretical resolution of 3840x2400 which leaves a wide margin available to expand.
