Problems with some Powerbook 15'' October 2005

By linathael. Original by Lionel - 18/11/2005 23:49:01 CET - Category: Apple
It took us some times to ensure that it was not a single case.
Some PowerBooks 15" from the last revision, based on DDR2 SODIMM, have an annoying problem with their battery, it refuses to be loaded...
So it is impossible to use the PB as a mobile device, one need to have a power plug.
Apple does not know yet where the problem is coming from; but it could be due to an error in the power management firmware located in the battery; and it seems not to be the case anymore in the manufacturing process. The solution would then be to upgrade the battery firmware.
If you are facing such a problem, please let us know the serial number of both your computer and your battery.

The G5 1.8 GHz Single a Mac again thanks to firmware update

By Greg. Original by Lionel - 18/11/2005 14:03:41 CET - Category: G5
According to feedback we got on the French site, the firmware update for the G5 mono 1.8 GHz rev2 did actually solve all the bugs that were related to that particular computer. Incredible performances happened, like being able to run the computer during 24 hours with no freezing of the OS. Incredible or... is it not what everybody should expect from any computer, especially a Mac?
It's such a big event that we're actually thinking about promoting this date - November 15th - as the website's official bank holiday!
