Are the Majors too greedy?

By Cri-cri. Original by Lionel - 05/10/2005 23:01:00 CEST - Category: iPod
According to Le Figaro, the relationship between Apple and the Majors is far from improving. Of course, the discussion is always about the price. Apple categorically refuses to give up its policy of (almost) a single price while the Majors consider that prices should vary.
It seems that Apple is not the only one that has problems with them. According to the Wall Street Journal, Microsof stopped negotiations with the Majors, because of not having been able to find an acceptable compromise. The Majors required, in exchange of access to their catalogue, a fixed price from 6 to 8 dollars per month and subscriber.
It is the battle of the content providers and those who now hold the capacity to sell this content on the internet. They need each other but each one wants to take the lead on decisions. We are just hoping that this battle will not weaken them and encourage illegal downloads.

G5 pumps up too much?

By Val. Original by Lionel - 05/10/2005 22:49:23 CEST - Category: G5 - Source: XLR8yourMac
According to Apple, the G5 is a success from an energy savings standpoint and it consumes only 2W in deep sleep.
But on the Apple Forums, measures show that in fact, it consumes about 40 W. Worse, shutdown, it still eats more than 30W!
One may wonder where goes that energy which could power a Mac mini under full CPU load.
If you have the equipment to measure accurately how much your Mac consumes, please send us your results.

http://www.apple.com/movies

Thanks to Tucpasquic for the info
If you go to the following URL on Apple.com,
http://www.apple.com/music
you'll get the iPod and iTunes page.
If you replace iTunes by something not expected, you'll get an error 404 (page not found), which is obvious.
But, if you try this URL,
http://www.apple.com/movies,
you'll not get an error page but a non-authorised access page. This page is then existing, but only some people have access to it, at least for now on.
