We immediately have tried to install it in a PowerMacG5
First, the DVR-110 (left) is really similar to the DVR-109 right).
Installing it in a PMG5 can be achieved without any problem, and takes only a couple of minutes.
After rebooting, the DVR-100 burner is immediately recognized by Tiger and iApps...
...all but iDVD as usual, since it is not a standard DVD burner installed by Apple in its computers.
But with our usual patch, the problem can be solved, and we can use the full double layer burning capacity of the DVR-110.
Beside the support of DVD +/- R double layer at 8X, this burner does not bring any new when compared to the DVR-109. We suspect that this new model was released to keep features in Pioneer offers similar to competitors, while waiting for the future Blu-Ray.
