ATI is innovating by releasing the first PC and Mac compatible graphic card. Available for 199$, this card will feature 256MB of DDRRAM with a 128-bits bus, and will be compatible for AGP 4x and 8x.
If the price is relatively high, this new card has a dual-link to connect the 30" Apple Display.
This is an excellent idea, and let's hope that this is the first model of a long list of PC/Mac compatible cards. It might also give idea to competitors; and in addition it also open the possibility for PC users to enjoy a 30" Apple display without requiring the expensive graphic card usually found associated with it.

Charles comments on Toast 7 before it appears in stores very soon :
I really enjoyed the AUDIO DVD function to generate a DVD featuring an interface allowing user to organize his files in albums. Images included in an album in iTunes are also recognized by the AUDIO DVD function.
iLife data and information are also accessible via the Toast 7 interface.
There is also a nice utility named Motion Pictures HD.

Another interesting function will be the possibility to burn CD or DVD directly in DivX format from any video format.

By linathael. Original by linathael - 19/08/2005 09:19:29 CEST - Category: Apple - Source: Apple
Some production series of iMacG5 have been affected by problems due to electronic components (defect capacitors). We quickly reported those problems affecting some iMacG5 series, most of them originating from October 2004.
Today, Apple is finally acknowledging those reported issues with some iMacG5 and launching a iMac G5 Repair Extension Program.
The affected iMac G5 computers have serial numbers where the first 5 digits fall into the ranges noted below:
W8435xxxxxx - W8522xxxxxx
QP435xxxxxx - QP522xxxxxx
CK435xxxxxx - CK522xxxxxx
YD435xxxxxx - YD522xxxxxx
You will locate the 11-digit serial number on a label under the foot of the iMac G5:

So, if you own an iMacG5 with a weird behavior (scrambled video, PSU problems) contact immediately the AppleStore or Apple Support or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
