Environment-friendly Blu-Ray media from Pioneer

Today, most of DVD media are manufactured from oil products, so not really environment-friendly and directly impacted by the price of oil.
Pioneer is investigating alternatives and has successfully produced a Blu-Ray media from maize starch. One can produce 10 media from the equivalent of a single ear of corn.
