Powerbook 17'': no more replacement parts?!

Benjamin has send back his PB17" a month ago. The reason: problem with the hinges preventing the PB to be properly closed. He just received his PB back...not repaired! Apple has admitted having NO spare parts to fix his PB17". In addition nobody has been able to tell him what could be the estimated delay before having the replacement parts available...
