Apparently Intel does not want AMD to be the first to launch a dual core processor; and has announced that their dual core processors will be presented to on April 23rd and should start shipping some of them in May.
So, if Apple wants to be the first to announce and demo a dual core-based consumer-oriented computer it is definitely time to hurry up!

Except if you are in Japan, it is not really possible to imagine what is currently displayed on mobile phones when connected to the AppleStore Mobile. But one can have an idea (thanks Oscar) by using an iMode emulator as shown below:
