Notebook repair in GB

Apple is still dealing with problems caused by the bankruptcy of ADT which was handling the Apple Care. However, things seem to be moving. Eric's testimony:
I had bought a PB 15" a year and a half ago at Apple Expo. A little time ago, the infamous whitespots started to appear on my display. I was no longer covered by the warranty, yet i called Apple support to know if it would be handled anyway and at which cost. After checking the serial number, the answer was "yes and free of cost".
With everything i had read on MacBidouille regarding the problems with Apple Care, i was a bit anxious about de time it would take and the quality of the service.
As arranged, Apple sent a UPS guy to my door 24 hours after my phone call who collected my machine in a box.
-the duration of the repair was supposed to be a week. And i've received it today, which is a week.
-the screen's been changed.
-the back of the screen (with the Apple logo) which had marks and scratches has also been changed.
-they replaced one of the little rubber pieces which had been broken with time. (i also suspect them of having changed the whole bottom of the PB... i cannot seem to find the scratches there used to be..)
-and so on...
In a nutshell, my PowerBook has been pampered back to its original state for free. :-)Thank you so much Apple.
An interesting fact is that the machine was sent in a repair centre in England, and has not been repaired in France.

Nice new concept.. or is it ?

Tulip Computer, a PC maker revealed its new "Fashion" notebook concept in a salon: the E-Go. The picture's caption : "Tulip Distribution Announces the World’s First Lifestyle Notebook"

Weird, this look gives me a feeling of deja vu ...
Oh... silly me... i had almost forgotten: Apple's clamshell iBook had the Apple logo underneath the screen. Definitely nothing to do with this... my bad...

(Thanks Jérôme)
