New heads for Apple France

By linathael. Original by Lionel - 04/09/2004 14:17:09 CEST - Category: Apple
Three days ago, the new Apple France Executive Head, John Perkins, was presented to the French Mac users. Eventhough, he is Canadian and English is his mother tongue, he is speaking perfectly French. We could not talk to him for a long time, but he seems opened. This is of course important for us, because the previous Executive Head, J.R Cazeneuve was particularly opened, easy-going, and attentive to the French Mac community; not hesitating to take part of his time, to sit and discuss with Mac users. Regarding that aspect of the position, things should not change with John Perkins thanks to his broad knowledge of Mac world, which should ease the transition as fast as possible.
We also had the opportunity to meet the new Apple France Media Representative, Sabine Vacher. Eventhough it is not an executive positions, her job is really important since she is in charge of public and media contact. Regarding her new role, it might take some times, since she almost does not know Mac world or Community, and she will have to learn the way Apple is communicating with the public or Mac users. Hopefully, the Company in charge of Apple Communication ("Rumeur Publique", literally Public Rumor!!) remains the same, and has one more time proven its efficiency and quality during the AppleExpo.

Keynote: there were indeed 2 elevators...

By linathael. Original by Lionel - 04/09/2004 13:50:27 CEST - Category: Apple
we were reporting before that Apple was requesting installation of 2 small elevator through the keynote stage; however announcement of only the iMacG5 as a new product during the Phil Shiller's presentation were not supporting this info ... however Richard has discovered this photo on Apple web site:

You can clearly see 2 new iMac standing to 2 independent elevators. Since Phil was giving his first presentation with the iMacG5 it can not be a photo fro, another show.
Apple was maybe planning a potential technical problem preventing one of the elevator to work properly...speaking about safety, do not forget to backup your data...
[Update] this photo has been taken by Macgénération members!!

Give more mobility to the iMac G5

G5gear is introducing iNeck. This thin base gives the horizontal tilt back to the iMac G5, making it almost as adjustable as the old Sunflower iMac G4. Its price is US$49.95 for the 17" model, and US$59.95 for the 20".
