I was involved in the discussion (our Forum) related to a problem with FCP4 HD when running it on an AluBook17". Indeed, it was impossible to record more than 5 minutes of video on FireWire, as well as on the internal HD than using an external FireWire drive. This problem is known worldwide on all video Pro forums (2pop...) After one and a half month of investigation by Apple on my computer and on my installed configuration, they have finally identified the problem and found the solution which will officially be published online on the Apple Forum later. However, they asked me to spread this information to the largest number of pro Mac users. The solution for those affected by this problem is to repeat Panther installation with the selection in the install options of all the parts related to the Terminal. Indeed, FCP4 needs commands from the Terminal to work properly. I am sure that this info will help many of us. Menu
