It is possible to fit a radeon 9800 pro mac in a Cube. This hack is made possible by using the Powercube enclosure from Powerlogix (http://powerlogix.com/products/enclosure/index.html). It is just necessary to sand approximately 1mm off of the internal upper shield of the cube. I also use an additional external PSU to give enough juice to the card. I placed that 2nd PSU on the floor so that it doesn't look ugly next to the Cube. All the details of this mod can be found here: http://www.cubeowner.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=7081 All the pics give a fairly straightforward "howto". The page also features a few benchmarks, the graphic tests give great results ! |
