10.3.4 7H56

The beta versions of 10.3.4 keep coming at a steady pace. It seems that Apple wants to present it as an update as soon as possible.
Right now it is build 7H56.
It's supposed to accelerate the launch time of applications.
There are also some SCSI, USB and Firewire improvements.

First dual layer burner by end of May

The DVD burner manufacturers really seem motivated to get to dual layer as soon as possible.
Lite-On will release the SOHW 832S by the end of this month.
it burns DVD-R/+R at 8X
it burns DVD+R9 at 2,4X
it burns DVD-RW/+RW at 4X
it burns CD-R at 40X
it burns CD-RW at 24X
it reads CDs at 40X
it reads DVD at 12X
But don't be too hasty if you already have a DVD burner and want to change it for a dual layer one. The dual layer media are not available yet.
