It was obvious that Apple had to produce a advanced solution for the HD, a format with a promising futur which is used more and more. With FCP HD we didn't expect so much !

Apple has posted a page on xSan.
http://www.apple.com/xsan/
It's a professional network storage solution. 64 machines can thus share up to 16 TBytes of data. The software can also dispatch the data redundantly on different servers to avoid dataloss due to breakdowns.

As you may have guessed, this software which will cost 999$ is aimed at closed professional circles. But some big storage and bandwidth consumers like news editors or firms such as Pixar will enjoy that.

Here are some of the specifications of this new software :
- 299 $ !
- it's a Video, graphics and text animation software
- Includes a particle generator
- A Final Cut Pro-like, user-friendly interface
This application, which seems to be a direct challenger to After Effects and fully integrated into Apple's set of video software, will be available this summer.
