Fotolook under Panther : more info
After having received many emails following the previous news describing how to use Fotolook under Panther, we think we need to clarify some points.
In fact, the main advantage/goal of this tip is to revive your SCSI scanner, and not only the Fotolook-based models.
If it was working perfectly under Jaguar, the tip allows you to use, not only your SCSI scanner, but also in together with your favorite software.
That way, some users have succeeded to control their scanner not only with Fotolook, but also with Scanwise.
Do not hesitate to make your own test with your favorite software and to report it to us if you find out something new.

Mac OS X Now Supported by SGI InfiniteStorage Shared Filesystem CXFS

SGI claims that this file system is as efficient as any other system. Plus, it has the ability, as smb, to be readable and efficient with computers running IRIX, Windows, Linux, Unix and now MacOS X.

SGI explains this increase of market share with the arrival of the G5s.
Apple has thus again a major part to play in this milieu, let's just hope that this will happen with other domains, such as PAO, which are sinking...
