To give you another point for comparison, a G4 Dual 1.42GHz can not produce more than 15 Spectral-gates; with a G5 the result allows a gain over 400%. Up to now, to obtain such a capacity to treat audio data you had to invest at least 20,000€ (without the computer) in a ProTools HD3. In addition as you wrote it down in the previous news, MacOSX 10.2.7 is not optimized as well as Audio Logic 6 which is still a beta for the G5. So the results should even get higher when MacOSX and Audio Logic 6 will be optimized for the G5. So far it is only quickly recompiled versions. |
