A Way to Avoid RAM Overheating in a Mac Pro
Les tests
When rebooting the Mac, there isn't any additional noticeable noise .
You can see below, some temperatures before installing the fans , and using the smcFanControl software, a second measurement with the fans in place and with smcFanControl, and finally, with the fans, and without smcFanControl ( thus using the default fan speed).
The blue values are those of the memory modules A1 and A2.
Even if the temperature difference seems to be poor between these measurements, the temperature doesn't vary much , even if with an huge CPU load, and a slow speed of the "factory" fans.
The maximum temperature measured was 48°C ( 118F°).
My "old" Memory ( two Dane-Elec 2Go), was recognized by Hardware temperature moniture, and surprisingly, the new one are not, but I made some measurements with the old modules and the temperature of the B1 and B2 module was over 13C°(55,4F°) higher than the A1 and A2, so I can say that they don't go over 60°C( 140°) in any case.

Conclusion
This an affordable price for a fan kit, wich gives you a bunch of safety to your expensive investment in a MacPro with a lot of memory.
These fans can stabilze the temperature of the memory banks to a low value, even with a high CPU use and a slow speed for the factory fans.
They are easy to install and don't bring any extra noise.
