As seen in our screen shots, the burner resisted the dubious torture.
The drawer continued to open and Toast still recognized it perfectly with its new CD burning speed:
We have burned a CD without encountering any problems at the new speed. We also succeeded in burning a DVD-RAM, which was impossible before. The CD reading speed was also found to be faster and, of course, the burner is now region-free.
As you can see in the first screen shot on the page, the burner is no longer completely supported by the system, but that but that does not affect any of its functionality.
We also tried to return it to its original state with the firmware dump we made, and we had no problems with that.
Soon, when LabelFlash compatible media are available, we will try to transform it into a ND-4571, which is compatible with this functionality.
