3 - Outputs
The MacBook features very similar outputs to its brother the iBook. One will find: - 2x USB2 ports - 1x FireWire400 port - 1x RF45 (ethernet) - 1x MiniDVI-VGA. Regarding FireWire output, the MacBook is better equipped than the PB12" or iBook12", since the iSight is now included over the display panel; making the FireWire port available for external HD for example. However, the lack of integrated modem will require the user to buy an external USB model from Apple, blocking potentially one of the 2 USB2 ports. As was already the case for the iBook, all outputs are located on the left side of the MacBook, making it not very easy to plug/use an USB mouse for a right-handed user.

One notable change is the new location of the security slot, which is now next to the headphone output. It is now easier to secure the notebook while using all outputs at the same time.
When considering the MacBook as the Apple entry-level notebook, the current outputs will fit most of everyday basis needs; although an additional USB2 port on the right side of the MacBook would have been a good idea.
