Introduction
Apple is currently proposing the GF 7800 GT as a BTO for the last PMG5 models. Performances of this graphic card are excellent, however its cooling system is rather noisy. It is a real issue when installed in a PMG5 on which Apple tried so hard to improve cooling efficiency and management, while not sacrificing user environment quality.
There are currently on the market 2 third-party cooling systems that would fit to replace the default one installed on the GF7800 GT:
- The NV Silencer 5 Rev 3 from Artic Cooling, probably the most efficient one, mostly due to the fact it blows the hot air away from the case. The main drawback is its thickness, that renders both PCI-Express located next to the graphic card unusable.

In addition its installation is not that easy.
- The Alma VF700-CU is the second option, and the one we chose, for 2 reasons : it's easy to install and it only overlap on one PCI-Express slot. Hereafter is a photo of the kit:

Entirely made of copper, it is provided with 8 memory heatsinks that are simply glued on the chips. One can see the good quality and design of this system that will also cool down not only the GPU but also the nearby components.
