Introduction
The best graphic card currently available for Mac is the GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL; which is still the only card able to manage the 30" Apple Cinema Display.
This card has high-level performance, top-notch specs, yet one main issue remains with it: it is noisy. Of course, it is not similar to the Apple PMG4 MDD issue, but it simply abolishes Apple design and integration efforts developed to silence the PowerMacG5. Below is a picture of this large graphic card compared to a ATI Radeon 9800 (located on the top).

We have decided to install a NV Silencer 5 cooler from Arctic Cooling.

This is currently the only third-party cooler validated for the GeForce 6800 Ultra. And it is quite difficult to find one in France, since it is not officially available yet.

There is a large copper-based plate which will come over the GPU as well as video chipsets and memories. It also includes a heatsink-coupled fan with a maximal rotation speed of 2,500 rpm. For this card, Apple has designed a system to regulate fan rotation, which shall increase accordingly to GPU loading.
