Let's see if everything works.
Isn't that a relief to hear the chime at startup ?

As this screenshot shows, our mod was a success. To get it recognised by the iApps and the Finder, we used PatchBurn2. Then, we went onto the tests.

Roxio's Toast 6 detected the drive and burnt a perfectly working video DVD at 2x speed, in 27minutes. The iApps being the next logical test, we loaded the iLife '04 install DVD.

The installer didn't cringe when we selected iDVD4. Once the installation process completed, we launched the app and quickly tried to burn a project.

iDVD burnt everything without a hitch, so, clearly, this superdrive install is a complete success!
