8x DVD Burners tests

1) Introduction :

Since few month DVD burner manufacturers are racing to release "true" 8xDVD burner. First only DVD+R could effectively burned at 8x, and more recently DVD-R media can be created using 8x burning speed. Currently, there are only 2 models which are true 8xDVD+/-R Burner : Nec ND-2500A and Pioneer DVR-107D.
As you can see below in the table, specs are not identical for our 2 competitors, Nec model is faster for CD-R burning, but slower for CD-RW, and its CD access time is 10ms faster than Pioneer model.

It is important to mention that burning DVD at 8x, and CD over 16x, is only achieved in ZCLV mode ; meaning that burner speed will vary during the process.
